Following Miss Shona’s appearance on Channel 4’s Big Ballet a group of the ballerinas got together and decided they would like to continue training and performing so the search was on for an Artistic Director to lead and guide the group. They were lucky enough to have Daniel Jones who had recently finished performing as a soloist with The English National Ballet make contact with them and the rest is history.
The group has since evolved and in 2015 became Daniel Jones Ballet UK names after their talented Artistic Director.
Daniel now splits his time between his role within Wilkes Academy London, various other projects and travelling to Leeds to continue working with children and adults from his base at our studio to provide an excellent level of training and inspirational choreography from ballets such as Romeo & Juliet, The Nutcracker and his own contemporary pieces. Daniel Jones Ballet UK have performed on the main stage at Move It Dance 2015 and 2016.
Miss Shona in her role as Ballet Mistress for Daniel Jones Ballet UK assists by keeping classes running on a weekly basis when Daniels work commitments means he is unable to make it to the Leeds base.
Daniel Jones Ballet UK welcomes any new dancers of all ages from children to adults who would like to take this amazing opportunity which is not often found within dance studios in the north of England.
